Coming off the bench, he made an immediate impact by scoring the equaliser to make it 2–2. After the match, Giuseppe Aurelio spoke to the media: “We wanted the win today, and we achieved it as a team. Of course, we haven’t accomplished anything yet, but you can start to see something positive taking shape and you can feel this team’s determination to do well.
A tough week? There are far more complicated things in life. In our job, there are difficult moments too, and you have to face them head-on. It was only right to celebrate with our fans, they make so many sacrifices to follow us and they always support us. Celebrating under their stand felt natural.
The goal? I like getting into the box, I like scoring, so whenever there’s a good opportunity I try to attack the area and put the ball in the net. Obviously, scoring is a great feeling, it brings immense joy, but today it didn’t matter who got the goal. What mattered was the result, and thankfully we managed to bring home the three points.
When you win, everything feels more positive. It’s easier to work, everything feels better. We have a clear objective, and together we’ll try to achieve it, side by side with our fans.
From day one, our supporters have pushed us and they continue to do so. That makes us proud, and we have to step onto the pitch for them as well.
There are twelve games left in the season, twelve finals. We have to take them one at a time to reach our goal. And without a doubt, Saturday’s match is a very important step in our journey.”
