Spezia Calcio has received with great regret the decision that, for the second consecutive year, prohibits its supporters from attending the away match in Carrara, an occasion deeply felt by both communities and one that represents an important moment of sport, passion, and shared participation for the entire territory. Limiting the presence of one set of supporters inevitably affects the very meaning of the sporting event, depriving it of an essential component.
While fully respecting the decisions taken by the Competent Authorities, we must nonetheless point out that this measure has been adopted in the absence of any recent incidents or issues that would justify such a restriction. For this reason, the Club has decided to file a formal appeal with the appropriate bodies, in order to protect Spezia Calcio, its supporters, and the principles of fairness.
We understand and share the disappointment of our fans, who have already undertaken a similar course of action, once again demonstrating their loyalty and sense of responsibility.
There is also a clear sporting concern: with six matches remaining in the regular season, at a decisive stage in the relegation battle, the team will be required to play a derby in a sold-out stadium without the support of its own supporters, a situation that risks affecting the competitive balance of the league.
Spezia Calcio will continue to act with responsibility and in full respect of the institutions, while remaining firmly committed to defending its rights and those of its supporters.
